The Lagos state police command had matched its word with action after handing down several warnings over what it described as 7-7 initiation, notifying parents and guidance of the impending plan of illegal cults initiation its uncovered while beefing journalists some weeks back. The command said it got wind of plan initiation of members of Aiye and  Eiye cult gangs that are planning to use such opportunity to recruit other members into its fold illegally.

Recall that the Lagos state police command had requested parents and guardians in its last week media briefing to caution their wards as it has information within its disposal that some members of Eiye, Aye and other dreaded group are planning to carry out its illegal activities and as result, doll out stern warning as it said “it would react promptly and  dismantle their plans”
In marching its words with action, the command paraded 137 suspected cultists that were apprehended for an alleged unlawful assemblage that may have something to do with initiation into membership of secret cults within Lagos metropolis
The statement put further that operatives of the Anti-cultism unit were said to be observing the ‘seven days of the seventh-month initiation in preparation to unleash mayhem on the larger society.
In putting the location of where some of those cultists were apprehended in specific terms, the Lagos State Police Public Relation officer, CSP Oti said 120 of them were picked in ikorodu area, while 17 were also arrested in Ogombo location and that 33 of those arrested specifically in ikorodu are females.
The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Edgal Imohimi, who paraded the suspects yesterday at the command headquarters, said the suspects had earlier been warned on Thursday, July 5, against the assemblage. Based on the credible intelligence available to the command, the suspects were arrested at Ikorodu where they were observing 7-7 and undergoing initiation.

Edgal disclosed that one big banner inscribed with 07 and black axe logo, a yellow keg containing three litres of a liquid substance suspected to be skuchies, six small kegs containing skuchies, one big clay pot, two small calabashes and one locally made cut to size pistol were recovered from those arrested.
