“Kaita, at present, is a member of the house of representatives, representing Kanka/Kusada/Ingawa federal constituency, beats his elder brother, Kabir Babba Kaita of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, who polled 59,724 votes”
Accordingly, Abdullahi said GPN Scored 1056, DA Also Polled 796, and MPN Scored 633 While MMN got 343 votes from the poll result.
Meanwhile, The Bauchi state police command had confirmed to New Agency Of Nigeria that it has arrested five people in connection with electoral offences committed during Saturday’s Bauchi south Senatorial Bye Election
Spokesman of the command, Mr Kamal Datti stated this while responding to a question from the News Agency of Nigeria.
He said, “From the report, we are getting from our men so far, the election process is going on fine, peaceful and hitch free.
“However, we have made some arrests; we have arrested five people in connection with electoral offences.”
Also, two people in Kogi is said to have lost their lives in Kogi State on Saturday as widespread violence marred the bye-election conducted to fill the vacant position of Lokoja/Koton-Karfe Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.
The seat was occupied by the late Buba Jubril who was until his death, the Deputy majority leader in the House of Representatives.
An eyewitness told urban express news correspondent that the deceased was about to snatch a ballot box at a voting unit in the NEPA area when he was attacked
It was learnt that the gun in his pocket triggered off and killed him while trying to escape from the crowd.
The source added that the suspected thug stabbed a party loyalist who tried to prevent him from snatching the ballot box, which forced other supporters, attacked and stabbed him to death.
Confirming the developments, the Police Public Relations Officer, William Aya, gave his own account from different perceptive of the incident to newsmen in lokoja, saying that the suspected political thug who invaded the voting centre to snatch the ballot box was overpowered by the parties supporters who killed him.
He did not confirm whether it was the gun in the pocket of the alleged thug, which triggered off and killed him.
He, however, said that the corpse of the suspect had been deposited at the Federal Medical Center, Lokoja Mortuary, while the investigation has commenced.
