Assistant Inspector General of police in charge of zone two police command,
Ahmed Illyasu was today accompanied by Lagos and Ogun state commissioners
of police to assess the level of compliance within his jurisdictional zones.

restriction order was handed down by president mohammadu Buhari against the global  pandemic  known as Coronavirus that has been ravaging the world killing
thousands of people.

his broadcast on the 29th of March 2020, the president specifically
handed down the restriction order  to cover Abuja, Ogun and Lagos states for fourteen days and
requested security agent to ensure strict compliance.

The AIG who toured Kara environment, a border with Lagos and Ogun state was in
company of  Lagos state commissioner of police, Hakeem Odumosu and his
counterpart from Ogun state police command Kenneth Ebrimson and ‘that which is  able to monitor
compliance and was adjudged commendable, the statement read!

statement from the zonal Police Public Relation officer, Dsp Hauwa Idris said
the Assistant Inspector General of police Ahmed illyasu assured the public  of their safety and that the police will  continue to ensure sustenance  of  security of life and property of the Nigerian people

said the AIG in strong term warned criminals who may want to seize the opportunity
of the present situation that his men are at work to ensure no act of criminality
goes unchecked.

Assistant inspector general of police has pleaded with members of the public to
stay calm and abide with the directives and order from the authority on the “lockdown’’,
as it is not a punishment, but to slow down the incubation, spread and the manifestation of the deadly virus, it is in the best interest of everyone where
the police and other security agencies are at work to make sure the economy,
institutions, diplomatic missions and all national interest are protected and

AIG thanked members of the press for their cooperation and good work, saying the pandemic can be defeated with the cooperation of the press and making a
difficult time a thing of the past”.
