The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Adamu Mohammed has ordered commissioners of police across the thirty-six states of the federation and federal capital territory and their supervising Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIGs) in the seventeen zonal commands, to revamp their security architecture in all areas of responsibilities ahead of the yuletide season
The directive was contained in a statement signed by the Force Public Relation Officer, DCP Frank Mba saying the inspector general of police had ordered today, 27th November 2020, during a meeting with strategic police officers at the force headquarters in Abuja, that all officer is to ensure optimal deployment to cover all vulnerable areas toward a peaceful Christmas and New year celebration.
Mba Said The IGP notes that the meeting was convened to review the general security situation in the country particularly in the aftermath of the ENDSARS protest and deliberate on challenges impinging on effective policing and internal security management concerns in the country.
The FPPRO said the inspector general of police, igp Adamu Mohammed commended the officers for the leadership they provided at the field level during the ENDSARS crisis and for their roles in guaranteeing a stable security order across the country.
The statement put further that the Honorable Minister of Police Affairs, Muhammad Maigari Dingyadi, who addressed the meeting, assured the Strategic Officers of Federal Government’s commitment to advancing the interest of the Police and providing adequate logistics to meet the operational needs of the Force.
