For want of convenience and safety along Magodo, CMD Roads highway aliments, the ministry of physical planning and urban development said it has set up a special committee to rid those identified spaces against continued unwarranted encroachments coming with illegal developments
In a statement Entitled: “Physical Planning Ministry Set-up Special Team To Rid CMD Road, Magodo Of Illegal Structures and that which was Made Available To Urban Express News-online through its Director of Public Affairs, Mr Mukaila Sanusi said the commissioner, Dr Idris Salako had set-up a special four-man committee to rid the axis of illegal Developments.
The statement put further; that the special team comprising the General manager, Lagos state urban Renewal Authority, Tpl Mrs Ajibike Shomade, Engr Waheed Kazeem Director Physical Planning Department, Tpl Bola Aliu, and Lateef Oladehinde.
His word; the commissioner of physical planning and urban Development, Dr Idris Salako Charged the team during its inauguration to ensure the removal of all illegal structures in the area, starting from otedola bridge end to ikosi and CMD Roads!
It is grossly out of place for people to illegally take over every urban space for development purpose, despite repeated warnings by this government as such activities are inimical to the sustainable development of the state and as such not condonable
The government would not sit and fold its arms and allow people to indiscriminately despoil what ought to form part of the reserved lands in Lagos state as efforts of the special team would assist the initiative to reclaim and control the development of the valuable urban space.
We urge the team to work for the realization of this objective assiduously without fear or favour as nothing short of diligence and professionalism is being expected in the discharge of these important duties.
The statement says a time frame of two weeks is given to delivering on its mandates
