The Lagos state commissioner of police, CP Hakeem Odumosu has ordered immediate trail of one inspector Joseph Dike attached to Aguda Police Division in the state on Wednesday after a pictorial display shows how he was receiving money from a motorcyclist
Inspector Joseph Dike, urban Express-News Learnt was captured in the act within Pako along Aguda, displaying a picture of him extorting a motorcyclist that got the police boss piqued with such act, prompting his directive investigating the matter which was said to have happened on the 22nd of September,2020.
In a statement titled: War Against Corruption; Lagos CP Commit Cop To Trial and that which was made available to Urban Express-News Online Through the Lagos state Police Public Relation Officer, Sp Olumuyiwa Adejobi said the commissioner of police, Lagos state command has again exhibited his zero tolerance for corruption when he ordered for the immediate orderly room trial of inspector joseph Dike attached to Aguda Division.
The PPRO said the commissioner also direct the public relation office of the command to circulate a strong-worded signal of warning to all police personnel in the command to desist from corrupt practices, extortion, misuse of power, improper dressing, harassment to members of the public by using stick or horsewhip, violation of human right and drunkenness on duty as such will attract severe reprimand or punishment according to the provision of the Police Act and regulations and other extant laws of the land.
The commissioner of police, Hakeem Odumosu, in addition, warned senior police officers of the command to caution their men and ensure that his directives with a view to stopping these unprofessional and unethical conducts are strictly complied with.
He said the police boss, however, assured members of the public of his determination to have that required and people-oriented policing system in Lagos state, the statement read.
