A pressure group the National
Youths Alliance for Buhari/Masari Anti-Corruption Crusade, has asked Nigerians
to support the current efforts of the Federal Government to tackle corruption
in the country
The group made the call after a
meeting in Katsina on Sunday.
It maintained that its members
would stand with President Muhammadu Buhari and Katsina State Governor Aminu
Masari in their current crusade against corruption in the country.
The group, through its Katsina
State Chairman, Alhaji Abu Karofi, said
what Nigeria was currently facing in terms of security and economic challenges,
were the direct consequences of the rot of the past which it maintained, could
only be tackled by a courageous leader like President Buhari.
Karofi called on governments at all
levels in Nigeria, to urgently incorporate curriculum on tackling
corruption and civic responsibility into
the school syllabi right from primary school to tertiary institutions in the
He said, “President Muhammadu
Buhari and his team should be encouraged on their current efforts at sanitizing
our country and ridding it of corruption. But it is natural that when you fight
corruption, corruption will fight back. That is why we are experiencing what we
are experiencing in the country today. Corruption is fighting back.”
