A settlement Located at Mogaji street, ijesha in Surulere was said to be in a sober mood after a police sergeant, identified as Philips Samuel was said to have fired a shot that killed an 18-year-old lady identified as Monsurat Olajide.
Urban Express-News gathered the victim was said to be in front of her parent house on mogaji street when the said police sergeant attached to the State Criminal Investigation Department fired a shot at the victim and where she was later confirmed dead.
An Eyewitness told urban Express-News that three policemen actually came for an undisclosed operation within the said location and that they actually came from the state criminal investigation department (SCID).
Meanwhile, the Divisional Police Officer Confirmed that the said policemen came to ijesha Police station to report their investigation activities of some individuals where he gave approval but never knew they came to raid
The state Police Public Relations Officer, Adekunle Ajisebutu, in a statement, explained that the cops were in the community to arrest a robbery suspect.
He noted that the policeman who pulled the trigger had been detained.
“The Commissioner of Police has directed that the said police officer should be tried and charged to court immediately after being dismissed from the Force. This, it is believed, will serve as a deterrent to others who do not act professionally in the course of their duties,” he submitted.
