The Nigeria custom Kirikiri Light Terminal yesterday said it has generated N15.7bn between January and September and that it has equally made sixteen seizure of containers concealed with different prohibited items like Tramadol, hydro generated coconut oil and other items with duty paid value DPV of N229 million.
The comptroller, Mrs. Oladunni discloses this to journalists yesterday.
She said 1x40ft laden with 254 cartons of Tramadol 100mg concealed with other drug, used tires laden with foreign spaghetti, Marcaroni and indomie 1×40 laden with body spay, 1x40ft with tomato ketchup, 1x40ft hydro generated oil, 1x40ft salad cream and shawama bread all with duty paid value of over 229 million was seized .
Comptroller Oladunni said the command also generated N15.7 billion naira by the end of September 2020 already surpassing the N15.1bn made for the whole year 2019.
This significant increase was achieved despite the pre and post covid-19 pandemic effects and other various challenges, the comptroller said
The area comptroller appreciated all stakeholders for using the command facilities despite the numerous challenges encountered but urged them to be honest with their declarations in other to enjoy seamless operation at the command, the statement read!
