The Lagos state commissioner of police, CP Hakeem Odumosu has commended safety agencies in their prompt response in managing causalities in an Accident that occurred along oshodi while cautioning Drivers in their manner of driving.
Odumosu made this disclosure while personally supervising a clearance of an accident scene at Toyota bus-stop along Apapa Oshodi Expressway.
The Lagos State Police Public Relation Officer, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi stated that the accident occurred on 7th January 2021 at about 10:44 am when a truck loaded with Diesel (AGO) lost control and fell between DHL and Toyota Bus-stop within isolo location, along Apapa Oshodi Expressway.
He said the truck caught fire immediately after the crash which later occasioned thick gridlock within the said location before it was cleared by the operatives of the police, federal road safety corps, civil Defence, Lagos Response unit, Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LSTMA), National Emergency Management Authority (NEMA) and Lagos State Emergency Management Authority (LASEMA).
The commissioner of police, who arrived at the scene for an on-spot assessment and clearing of the obstruction, was accompanied by Area commander Area D, Mushin, ACP Aliko Dankoli and the Divisional Crime Officer at Aswani, Adejobi said.
After the Assessment and clearing of the scene, it was confirmed that no life was lost to the fire incident while the commissioner of police commended the efforts of all safety agencies at the scene, urges drivers and road users to always be patient and drive with caution on the highway.
