Lagos state government has commenced
with the process of construction of ogudu-Alapere link Road and Toyin Abass street
 in kosofe as it seeks inhabitant’s corporation with the understanding of ensuring planning standard.

Penultimate week, Urban Express News-online
reported how the state government had
engaged stakeholders in its initial commencement of three other road project at
kosofe local government  which include
Demurin, church, Agidi street to bypass and Ketu mile 12 ikorodu road.

The event which took place yesterday at
Adeyemi Bero hall in Alausa, Ikeja, saw major stakeholders of diverse interest
from kosofe local government in attendance.

Many participants at the event say the road,
when constructed, will help ensure ease of traffic from origin to destination
of all inhabitants and another form of vehicular movement with enhancing the ease of
doing businesses within and outside kosofe environment.

Speaking at the event, the Commissioner of
Physical Planning and Urban Development, Dr Idris Salako told the gathering
that there is no doubt, taking development to every nook and cranny of the state would indeed go a long way in making life easier and more meaningful for
the teeming population who stand to reap the maximum benefit of the impending  boost in investment opportunities and the
attendant gains, such as employment and social wellbeing.

He said the interactive exchange among
stakeholder and inhabitants are to among others, seek and obtain mutual
understanding of stakeholders for the smooth and successful take-off of the

“This is in line with inclusive governance
drive of the administration of Mr Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu which is anchored
on a bottom-up approach to development as we have witnessed in the past (14)
fourteen months, coming with road infrastructure projects in different parts of
the state”.


Dr Salako reiterated the importance of
inclusive governance
 that comes with assurance which justifies why relevant
organs of the state government
 are being mobilized to assess the situation on the ground, recommend and dispense appropriate compensation where necessary.  

“There is no doubt, this is another right
step of enhancing the ease of doing business, improving  interconnectivity within the state which is
in tandem with the “THEME” agenda of government as enunciated in the transportation
and traffic management pillar”.

Another guest, Engr. Aramide Adeoye, who
indeed is the Special Adviser to Governor Babajide sanwo-olu on work and Infrastructure,
believes the state government was investing in the provision of durable
infrastructure across the state to fast-track the delivery of its “THEME”
Agenda, adding that the link road was identified critically to connectivity in
kosofe as its execution was indicative of that realization.

A member representing kosofe, a constituency
where the project is sited at the state house of assembly, Hon. Sanni Ganiu appreciates
Mr. governor, Babajide sanwo-olu in its interest seeing kosofe local government
grow as he urged that more roads should be embarked upon for construction

The chairman of kosofe local government,
Hon Folabi sofola on his part thanked Mr. sanwo-Olu for feeling the pulse of
his people while the representative of olojota of ojota, otunba Akintola Balogun
appreciate the state government for what he describes as important “Road
Project For Kosofe Inhabitants”
