Operatives of the Lagos state police
command has arrested One Hundred and fifty passengers for violating interstate
travel restriction handed down by the government of Nigeria as part of means curtailing
the Coronavirus pandemic ravagingtheworld and Nigeria.

Bala Elkana said the operatives, on the enforcement of the ban on interstates non
essential travel during curfew hours intercepted ten (10) luxurious buses with
one hundred and fifty (150) passengers travelling out of Lagos state to various
destinations in the northern and eastern regions of Nigeria.
Recall that the Presidential Task Force (PTF)
on COVID 19 had relaxed the restriction of movement in the form of an extension where it
allowed movement from 4Am in the morning to 10pm at night.
But for want of violation, the drivers and
passengers were said to have turned a deaf ear to the lay-down regulation and
were subsequently arrested, while their buses were impounded.
The PPRO said violators were arraigned in Lagos
state special offences court.
“The commissioner of police, Lagos state
command, CP Hakeem Odumosu warned commercial vehicle operators and motor parks
against violating interstates movement restriction orders during the curfew
hours, as passengers are also warned against non-essential interstate travel
during the curfew hours”
