Operatives of the Lagos state police command specifically the team of anti-crime patrol in Area j command, Ajah have arrested some robbery suspects and a suspected cultist with locally made double barrel gun and three cartridges as its vows to get justice as five hundred thousand offered as bribe coming from the suspect was rejected
A statement coming from the command’s Public Relation officer, Csp Adekunle Ajisebutu said the Armed robbery suspect, Alabi Timothy (23), a resident of No, 9 Baale street Majek, Ajah was arrested on 4th,09, 2021 at general point, garden area during a routine search by a team of operatives.
Adebutu stated that a self-confessed cultist, Badmus Toheed (22) who belong to the Aye confraternity was arrested with a live cartridge in a general paint ghetto area, Ajah where the suspect confessed that he was initiated into the Aye confraternity sometime in June 2021.
The PPRO said two other suspects were equally arrested while attempting to offer bribes to the police to secure the release of two suspects and pervert the course of justice.
The Suspect, Adariku Sunday (34) and Folorunso Akeem (43) who was said to have offered a bribe with the intention of securing the robbery suspect with four hundred thousand Naira and a hundred thousand Naira to secure the release of the suspected cultist were both arrested.
“While commending the professionalism and uncompromising act of the police officers, the commissioner of police admonishes other police officers to emulate the incorruptible ones”.
The commissioner of police, CP Hakeem Odumosu has directed that the case should be transferred to the command’s tactical team for further investigation and prosecution, the state read!
