“We are winning the war against cultism
with a harvest of arrest and recovery of firearms”-police

Operatives
of Lagos state police command have arrested a notorious cult leader at ilemba
specifically in Ojo local government with name Ismail Razak Aka Odia, age (25)

Narrating
the developments, the Lagos state police public relation officer, Dsp Bala
Elkana said in a statement that a team of operatives from ilemba police station arrested
the notorious cult leader after acting on credible intelligence.



He
said the notorious cultist with name Ismail Razak was arrested at 27, Alubatika
house Ajangbadi within Lagos metropolis.

The police spokesman said the leader of the gang is responsible for robbery attacks within IBA, okokomaiko Ojo town and Ajangbadi using Okada motorcycles.


“They
operate mostly in restaurants, bars and shops, adding that the suspect is
number two in the hierarchy of leaders of Eiye confraternity ravaging Abraham
Adesanya college of education ijanikin and its environs”

The
spokesman said the suspect has participated in the killing of their member adding
that the group mostly uses guns and axes in killing their victims.

Elkana
said the suspect had confessed to having participated in the robbery operation of
Naija bet shop at IBA on 11th July 2019 alongside three gang members
where they dispossessed them of their handsets and money at gunpoint.


“The
CCTV footage played to him buttressed his statement as he confirmed that his
gang members were killed by SARS operatives during a gun shoot-out at another operation
within iba area”.

He
said the suspect has been on the wanted list of the police.

“The
command equally made another break-through as teams of operation crush raided
cultist hideout in Bariga and was able to arrest one Augustine udih with age (39).

The
statement put further 22 members of the gangs were equally arrested adding that
they have all confessed to being a member of a deadly gang and cult group
responsible for various killings and violent crimes in Bariga.
The spokesman said investigation is ongoing and that suspects would be charged to
court
