Operatives of the Lagos state
police command have arrested one Yomi Olajide with a resident at 14 Oremeji street along toll gate route adjoining Lagos and Ogun state in connection with an allegation
of car stanching.

Narrating what transpired, the Lagos
state police public relation officer Dsp Bala Elkana in a statement said one Mr Amachi ude
with a resident at 15 Etegbin roads with a location at Elemba-Hausa in Shibiri, a Lagos
suburb reported at the Police Division 
that his LT Bus with registration no JJE 713XH was stolen by unknown thieves from where it was parked.



Elkana said a team of detectives
led by inspector Kehinde kazeem swung into action and visited all the mechanic
workshops and scrap sellers within the said jurisdiction to no avail.


“Acting on credible information, an investigation was extended to Atan axis of Ogun state where the vehicle was
recovered”

The spokesman said one Yomi Olajide
(39) was arrested while driving the said vehicle

Elkana said in his confessional statement,
the suspect (Yomi Olajide) stated that he and one jamiu who is at large
came to remove the said vehicle from where it was parked with their master key which
police also recovered from the suspect

Meanwhile, state command also arrested two
suspects who allegedly murdered their landlord after robbing him of his
vehicle.

The statement put further that luck
however, ran against the suspects as policemen from IBA on stop and search duty
at first gate along Agboroko area quickly stopped the moving vehicle in
reaction to their reckless driving in a suspicious manner.

The spokesman said, two suspects
namely Daniel Isaac (38) and Emmanuel Chukwu (36) was arrested.


 Elkana said further investigation revealed
that Daniel Isaac killed his landlord with the name Mr Don Able, a 50-year-old indigene
of rivers state and dumped the corpse in a well inside  his compound 
with a location at owodun street within ikotun metropolis before the long arm
of the law caught with them.

He said the suspect was escaping
with the robbed vehicle of the deceased along with his accomplice (Emmanuel Chukwu)
before they were intercepted

 “Their intention was to
go and sell the car”, adding that the suspects have confessed to the commission
of the crime


“Homicide detectives from the state
criminal investigation department is investigating the case as suspects will
be charged to court”


The spokesman said 50 rounds of ammunition were also recovered at satellite town. 


“This development happened after receiving credible information from a reliable source that a bag containing a suspicious item was smuggled into a motor park for onward transfer to Onitsha in Anambra state by an unknown person” 


The spokesman in a statement said it was in reaction to that credible intelligence  that made a team of surveillance dispatched by CSP chike oti, went to the motor park  with a location at maza maza  to recover the bag


“Upon searching the bag, 50 rounds of 38mm live ammunition were hidden inside  a Garri bag dust was discovered”


He said a female who claimed that the bag was given to her by a man in Ojo local government  area to deliver to someone at Onitsha was also arrested and she is helping the police with useful information 


“The case has been transferred to state Anti Robbery Squad (SARS) for further investigation is on-going
