Lagos state police command today
paraded Seventeen Notorious cult leaders, car snatchers and that  which took place in
different locations within Lagos metropolis with the understanding of
charging them to court immediately after  investigations  is completed




The commissioner of
police, cp zubairu Muazu while addressing journalists today, said crime
fighting has yielded positive results in the state
He said the command has so far
arrested one hundred and fifty-nine suspected armed robbers, kidnappers and
cultist, and has recovered forty-three arms and eight-four ammunition.

“Our prompt response to distress
calls helped in foiling eighty armed robbery attempts within our habitats”


Cp stated: that 14 cases of suicide
and attempted suicide was recovered.


“We are today complimenting and lunching
a special operation introduced by the inspector general of police, Mohammed
Adamu with code name operation Puff Adder aimed at re-dominating and reclaiming
the public space from heinous criminal elements that are drawn from police mobile
force, tactical units, criminal investigation department, rapid response squad,
taskforce and conventional policemen”

He said the men are charged to
ensure tolerance to all form of criminal elements in Lagos state


“Tough times indeed await those who
choose the path of crime in the state of aquatic splendour” adding “the battle
will be taken to their doorsteps”.

“The people of Lagos has the right to
a more peaceful and orderly state and with their support, we will rid the state
off criminal elements”.

On the responsibilities of
operation puff Adder in Lagos state, the Commissioner of police said “we enjoin them to operate
within the ambit of the law, and must respect the fundamental rights of the
people”

On the seventeen suspected cultist
arrested, the police public relation officer Dsp Elkana said in a statement said
that the whole development started when the intelligence-driven operation was
carried out by the command’s anti-cultism unit which lasted for four weeks from
20th of April 2019 to 19th May 2019 and was able to
identify cultist hideout in Ayobo, Shogunle, Ajegunle, Apapa, ikorodu, Ketu and
Alapere.

Elkana said the followings members
of Aiye and Eiye confraternity were arrested which include one frank (19) from Oyo
state, Ayomide Joseph (32) from Oyo state, Aliyu Mohammed (23) from kwara
state, shittu Abu (29) from Oyo state victor Asuquo(23) from delta state; Bolaji
oguniyi (23) from ogun state  Adeyemi
Samson(35) from Osun state, Samuel Hensaw (18) from Ebonyi state, Michael Nwabia
(37) from Enugu; Kabiru Ishola (21) from lagos; Alaka Yusuf (22)  from lagos 
juwon somade (26) from lagos , Divine Enu from cross rivers state;
Godwin Adebona (22) from osun state, salami lasisi (20) from lagos  tunde Akinbu (28) from ondo state;
Ayomide  Akinfolarin (26);  from lagos
He said all the suspects have been
charged to court.
In a similar Development at Ayobo
ipaja, Mr Saheed salami indeed reported that three male suspects stopped him
on the road specifically at fagbemi street ipaja and requested that he should
convey them to ipaja bus-stop but he refused.

“In provocation, the suspect used
cutlass and knife to inflicts deep cut on the victims head and right there,
those suspects were arrested and a motorcycle was recovered”
The suspects include one Lateef
Adeleke, Bashorun Lekan, and Chinedu Ugozie
The statement put further that the
suspects had confessed to being responsible for series of motorcycles snatching in
Lagos
