After Deploying Surveillance team
around Lagos metropolis for want of being proactive should in case there’s any
break down of law and order as the Easter season is being celebrated around the
metropolis, the Lagos state police command said it has arrested five notorious traffic
robbers around the state as a result.


The Lagos state police public
relation officer, Dsp Bala Elkana in a statement said police patrol team on
surveillance along Apapa expressway  during the celebration sighted some armed bandits  at Toyota bus-stop  under Daleko 
bridge taking advantage of the traffic congestion, robbing motorist and
other   unsuspected members of the public
of  their valuables such as laptops,
handsets and money.




It was in that telling, the public
relation officer said the team of surveillance was able to arrest a 19 years
old Daniel Ani, 17-year-old Akinbode muiz and one oluwasegun Emmanuel with age
24.

Elkana said they have confessed to
be responsible for traffic robbery along  Mushin environment, adding that they’ve
equally confessed to have stolen numerous phones and bags from different
victims as well as a bag containing the sum of twenty-five thousand naira
belonging to one oyetunji ibukun, whose residence is said to be at oke’afa
along isolo, before they were apprehended by the surveillance team.

Item recovered from the suspects include
“Two knives, and cutlasses


He said investigation is on-going,
and that suspects will soon be charged to court.


Also, along Badagry expressway,  two suspects with name Olalekan Taoreed, a male
of 20 years old with residence at ijora Badia  and  one
Adeniyi Okunloye  with age 25, whose residence  is located at Alaba Suru  were
arrested  with the support of the surveillance  team  attached to  orile police station
after receiving a distress call that some traffic robbers are operating at
Alafia area.

 The Ppro said in a statement that one Samsung
Duo handset stolen from one of their victims was recovered

Weapon recovered include one big
sharp cutlass which was said to be used in inflicting injuries on their victims

He said the suspects have confessed
to be responsible for traffic robberies along  orile environment

Elkana said investigation is
ongoing also, and that the suspects will be charged to court
“The commissioner of police zubairu
Muazu has warned that tough time awaits traffic robbers with the deployment of
surveillance team across the state”.

The statement put further that the command will continue to make Lagos state difficult for criminal elements to
operate
