Operatives of the Zonal Investigation Bureau (ZIB) under the umbrella of Zone Two Police command have arrested 40-year-old Anthony Bamido for allegedly using fraudulent means to acquire a car and loan all together from different individuals.
Explaining further, the Zonal Police Public Relation officer, Dsp Hauwa Idris said in a statement that Mr Ikupoluyi Oluwatoyin Sunday reported to the Assistant Inspector-General of police in charge of zone Two on how he was introduced to one Anthony Bamido, who claimed he needed the sum of ninety million Naira to execute a purported project
Dsp Hauwa, however, said the complainant gave fifty million Naira while the suspect with name Anthony Bamido deposited three vehicles.
The vehicles include Mercedes Benz E300 with Lexus Lx 570SUV with the Original Documents of the vehicles as security for the loans as he transferred ownership of the vehicles to Mr ikupoluyi and prepared an agreement for him to liquefy the securities should in case he defaults servicing the loan and completely repay in one month.
The ZPPRO said the suspect, Anthony Bamido also gave a Mercedes Benz GLE 450 to pruval trading international as security in another loan of ten million, five hundred thousand Naira in the same vein, making total number of vehicles he fraudulently collected from the car agent amounting to four (4) valuing one hundred and twenty-four million Naira.
“It is therefore revealed in the cause of investigation by operative of the zonal Intelligence Bureau (ZIB) that Anthony Bamido was arrested, investigated and arraigned for the similar offence by special fraud unit of the Nigeria police four years ago, which shows he is hell-bent on swindling unsuspecting victims of their monies and valuables”.
The zonal spokesman said the general public is hereby advised to beware of such person with the same modus-Operandi adding that investigation is ongoing and suspect will be accordingly charged to court for prosecution upon completion of investigation.
