Lagos state police command has arraigned Azeez Adeshina Fashola popularly known as Naira Marley for going against the interstate lockdown handed down by president mohammadu Buhari in other to stem Coronavirus pandemic that has killed millions of people in the world and still counting
A statement from coming from the Lagos State Police Public Relation officer, Sp Bala Elkana said operatives of the criminal investigation Department of its command arraigned the singer in a special offence mobile court in a location at Oshodi today for violating the cessation of movement and interstates travel order in Lagos.
Recall that on 13th July 2020, the suspect in total violation of the lockdown order embarked on a non-essential trip from Lagos to Abuja and back to Lagos in the same date, through the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Ikeja for a musical concert in the federal capital territory, Abuja
The PPRO said Naira Marley was arraigned alongside his manager, Seyi Awonuga on one count charge of breach of the cessation of movement and interstates travel order made by the president of the federal republic of Nigeria under regulation No2 of 2020 and committed an offence punishable under section 58 public health law ch. P16 Laws of Lagos state 2015.
He said the two accused persons pleaded guilty to the charge and were awarded a fine of one hundred thousand Naira each by the presiding magistrate.
