Nigerians on Social media has continued to react to the presidency’s assertion; that described former President Olusegun Obasanjo as the highest Divider in Chief on the land.

The Senior Special Assistant to President Mohammadu Buhari on Media and publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu said in a statement Titled; Obasanjo is Nigeria’s Divider In Chief

Obasanjo had on Thursday said Nigeria was slowly becoming a failed state and a basket case that urgently needs to be pulled from the brink of collapse.

The former president while delivering a speech titled “Moving Nigeria away from tipping over” at a consultative dialogue in Abuja, said he had never seen Nigeria so divided, adding that many of the problems plaguing the country today were due to the recent mismanagement of Nigeria’s diversity.

But Garuba Shehu described his comment as unfair attacks on President Mohammadu Buhari, says Obasanjo had descended from the lofty heights of a Commander-Chief.

Urban Express-News online had as justification, put on its Facebook platform what Nigerians feels about the word “Divider-In-Chief” and many are of the view that the word was just too hard on the former president while others feel both President Buhari and former President Olusegun Obasanjo are to be blamed.

Hassan Daud believes Obasanjo’s views was unnecessary as no former president attacked him when he was president in the way he was doing to president mohammadu Buhari, he added “if, for anything, there are other ways of channelling his points to the seating president without the media drama he’s attracting to himself, while Babatunde Fasanya is of the view that Nigeria under this government is facing more challenges than Obasanjo government!
