POLICE INTERVENTION Squad attached to zone two
command headquarters had nabbed some hoodlums that specialize in pipeline vandalization
within border towns in Lagos badagry suburb. According to Police public relation
officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, a superintendent
of police in charge of force public relation unit of it zonal command, said the suspects were arrested in the wee hours
of Wednesday, in time when they were perpetuating those heinous act. He said twenty five liters of jerry cans
containing premium motor spirit (Pms) was recovered.
Accordingly, the suspects arrested include
Adam Samson, whensu julien, rafiu Balogun, Sosu Elijah, Agosu Ogungbe, Daniel Akinwumi
and Omosebi Olorunwa. The police public relation also hints that some of the
gangs fled the scene immediately the police is sighted. He said the police also
recovered operational equipment’s like monocycles and one Volkswagen vehicle
with registration number xv859KRD.
Meanwhile in another related development, the
zonal intervention squad also got rid of one isiaka Adegbesin, (Age38),
ogunleye olushola (Age42) who are specialist in cloning fake vehicle numbering
plates and vehicles registration documentation within those axes.
The operatives relying on a tip off
got wind of them and were arrested, the force public relation officer said they
have launched manhunt for the rest of them that are still at large, promising
the general public with useful information to come forward and furnish the
police with it and assured them on swift response. He said these syndicates are
foggers of certificates of roadworthiness, fake seal, and stamps.
Items recovered from them also include station
diary extract, computer printers and fake national certificates of road worthiness.
He said Aig Abdulmajid had vowed to rid off its zonal command of any form of
criminal activities. He said the AIG’S
zero tolerance for criminal activities was still in force and that no stone
would be left unturned in ensuring a safer environment. The police would charge
those suspects to court after concluding in its investigation he disclosed.
