President Mohammadu Buhari Today Received the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Adeboye in the statehouse, Abuja.
Although details of the visit were sketchy as at the time of filing this report, many observer say the visit may be connected with companies Allied Matter Act CAMA 2020 recently signed by president Mohammadu which attracted so much reaction lined with criticism from religious bodies in the country.
But after signing the CAMA bill in August 7th 2020, President Buhari had listed the bill among his achievements.
The presidency in a statement via its twitter handle, @NGRPresident listed amongst other accomplishments, the president assent to the landmark bill amending the company allied matter Act 2020”
The controversial bill has been rejected by the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) which described the Act as ‘satanic”
Section 839 (1) and (2) of the law empowers the supervising minister to suspend trustee of an association (in this case, the church) and appoint the interim manager to manage the affair of the association for some given reason
Adeboye’s visit came when religious bodies are protesting against a section of the CAMA Act which had generated widespread criticism from religious bodies
