The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Adamu Muhammad has announced the commencement of physical and credential screening of police recruitment to take effect from 24th August 2020 to 6th September 2020 while directing other states command in the federation to come up with its details and guidelines.
Recall that the Nigeria Police had enjoined Nigerians willing to join the force to apply through its online platform, give criteria ranges from dates of birth, physical fitness and other standard demand as a prerequisite for becoming a member of the police family.
A statement from the Force Public Relation Officer, Dcp Frank Mba said; in continuation of the ongoing recruitment of constables into the Nigeria police force, all candidates who successfully completed the online recruitment registration exercise are to proceed for physical and credential screening scheduled to hold between 24th August 2020, across the federation.
The statement read in part; that applicants are to appear at the various screenings venues in their clean white T-shirt and shorts with credentials coming with recent passport and printout of their application submission confirmation page
The screening exercise will take place at designated locations with each state and Federal Capital Territory (FCT)
Details and specific guidelines for each state will be announced by the public relations in the thirty states of the federation and the federal capital Territory, (Abuja).
The screenings and other activity will be carried out in strict compliance with COVID-19 prevention protocols
The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Adamu Mohammed reiterates that the recruitment is absolutely free of charge and without any pecuniary obligation.
The IGP assures that the process will be conducted in the best tradition of transparency and accountability
All applicants to be wary of online imposters, scammers and other criminal elements who might want to take advantage of the recruitment process to dupe innocent applicants as anybody found wanting will be prosecuted, the statement read
Meanwhile, in giving details and specific guidelines, Anambra and Zamfara state command has requested candidates to appear with a facemask.
Explaining its guidelines, the Anambra State Police Public Relation officer Sp Haruna Mohammed said in a statement that the command exercise will start with the screening of applicants physical attributes and their credentials
The PPRO said applicants who fail to present any of the above requirement will not be considered for the screening as they are warned to conduct themselves properly and in strict adherence to COVID-19 protocol and safety guidelines as anyone that has nothing to do with the exercise should not be found within the vicinity of the screening exercise.
On the part of Zamfara state police command, the police public relation officer Sp Mohammed Shehu said applicants are to appear at the Zamfara state universal Education Training centre, Bye Pass Road, Gusau in their clean white t-shirt and shorts.
He said other details and specific guidelines of the exercise for each local government will be given as the screening and other activities touching on the recruitment will be carried out in strict compliance with the COVID-19 protocols.
