 Lagos state police command
has arrested three suspected  producers of adulterated drinks at Apongbon, a location within Lagos
Island.

A statement from the Lagos
state police public relation officer Dsp Bala Elkana said; after acting on
information received about how some individual with residence at 5 chapel street,
are operating illegal production of alcoholic beverages, a team of operatives
from the state intelligent Bureau was deployed to the area on surveillance patrol.


Elkana said this was
what led to the arrest of one Dare shittu (27), shittu Opeyemi Abdulsalam (19),
and Oyenuga Biola (29)
Large quantity of
alcoholic beverages suspected to be adulterated was recovered.

The spokesman said the
beverages brands include (Hennessey), (VSOP), (Hennessey xo) (Moet Chandon) label
and others
Also recovered from the
illegal production include jerricans of substances  suspected to be ethanol, cognac colouration,
rubber cocks, top cocks label stickers and other instruments used in the illegal
 business

He said the suspects
have confessed to the commission of the crime adding that police is on the
trail of one prince fatai shittu who is still at large
“Suspects will be
charged to court”, he added

Meanwhile operatives of
Lagos state police command known as operation crush had also succeeded in
arresting eight suspected cult members at Bariga within Lagos metropolis.

The statement put
further that after acting on a tipoff, it was able to arrest one ifeoluwa Dodo(19)
who happened to be a strong member of Aiye confraternity at Odo-era Street.

Elkana said the suspect
has been on the wanted list of the police for the alleged murder of one Taiwo Ojo
since February 2019 at the same Bariga.

He escaped after
leading eight other members of his members to carry out the murder, five
members of his gangs were initially arrested and charged to court for murder, on the same date at 5; 30pm, operatives arrested one Kunle oyediran with age 24 at the same location.

The Spokesman said the
cult members arrested are responsible for a series of violent attacks and
robberies in Bariga.

Continuing, Elkana said
operatives equally arrested one peter ejovwoke 26, an indigene of ughelli north
of Delta state with a resident at Ago Hausa Street in Ajegunle. One Azeez ojora
Ajayi aka Alaje with Age (37) was arrested at Apapa as olaiya Tosin, Kazeem
Adeyanju was equally arrested in Ketu by SARs operatives.

 Two Berretta pistol with three rounds of life
ammunition was recovered from the suspects

Elkana said all
suspects have confessed to being leaders of Aiye and Eiye confraternities mobilizing
their members for a clash of supremacy adding that investigation is ongoing
