Saudi Arabia coach Hervé Renard has tipped Argentina to win the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Speaking to D Sports, Renard also recalled backing Lionel Scaloni’s side for the 2022 edition, when they went on to beat France in the final in Qatar.
The 57-year-old said (via AlbicelesteTalk): “Argentina has a great chance of winning the World Cup again.
“I’m not going to repeat that phrase I said in 2022 because there’s still a long way to go before it starts, but yes, that was how I felt at the time.
“Sometimes, when you don’t start well in a tournament, it wakes you up. And that is exactly what happened to them, and they did very well.”
Argentina are in Group J of the 2026 World Cup alongside Algeria, Jordan and Austria.
