Liverpool legend, Jamie Carragher, has claimed that the team’s 1-0 win at Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday night, is “one of the biggest robberies in football”.
Harvey Elliott came off the bench to grab an 87th minute winner at the Parc des Princes.
It ensured the Reds will go into the second leg of their Champions League last 16 with a slim advantage.
Elliott’s goal came from Liverpool’s only shot at target, as they were completely dominated by the Ligue 1 champions.
PSG recorded 27 shots on goal, including 10 on target and saw Khvicha Kvaratskhelia’s goal in the first half ruled out for a narrow offside, while goalkeeper Alisson Becker’s heroics kept the French side at bay.
When asked if Liverpool got away with it, Carragher told CBS Sports: “Got away with it? That’s one of the biggest robberies you’ll ever see in football.
“It is. I can’t believe what I’ve just seen, I can’t.
“PSG were outstanding, they were brilliant. They battered Liverpool.”
