The Ekiti State Amotekun Corps has exposed a fake National Identity Number, NIN, official in the state.
According to a report made available to journalists in Ado Ekiti on Saturday through the Head of Communications Department, Officer Adeleye Abiodun Adewale, as directed by the Ekiti State Amotekun Commander, in person of Brigadier General Ibukunoluwa Adewa, one Tayo Ige, a native and indigene of Odo Emure, located along the First Bank road on Thursday, 6th of March, 2025; aged 26 years old, has been grabbed by the Ise Ekiti Amotekun Operatives.
During investigation, the operatives of the Amotekun Corps revealed that the suspect, Tayo Ige confessed to the alleged crime committed, adding that he had been duping a large number of people in the town, after parading himself as an NIN official.
He, however, narrated the tactics employed towards carrying out his deceptive mission by always visiting some areas in Emure-Ekiti with fake official materials of the National Identification Number (NIN) to cajole them.
The Amotekun Officer, who effected his arrest, further explained that he was apprehended in the said town during a security patrol.
