Human rights lawyer Inibehe Effiong has urged suspended Rivers State governor Similayi Fubara not to respond to the summons issued to him by the Sole Administrator, Vice Admiral (rtd.) Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas.
Effiong asserted that if Fubara dignifies the summons—which he described as “silly and ridiculous”—it would signify that he is not a serious individual.
The statement follows a request summoning of Fubara and His Deputy, Dr Ngozi Ordu to Appear to appear before Ibas at the Government House in Port Harcourt.
Urban Express News Online reported that the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Ibibia Lucky Worika, disclosed this in a special announcement issued on Tuesday.
Worika noted that the summons is part of an official inquiry into appointments made during the Fubara administration over the past two years.
However, the human rights lawyer, in a post on his X handle on Tuesday, described it as a situation where an unconstitutional impostor is summoning a governor who is shielded by constitutional immunity.
He said: “If Fubara dignifies this silly summons, it means he is not a serious person.
“An unconstitutional impostor is summoning a governor who is protected by constitutional immunity?
“This madness can only happen in Tinubu’s Nigeria.
Such insolence!”
