One of the Aspirants Contesting the Position of Chairmanship for Mosan Okunola Local Council Development Area, Barr. Rotimi Ogunwuyi has petitioned the local Government Primary Election Appeal committee and demands a cancellation of the just concluded Primary that declared Mrs. Adunni Opeyemi Akindele as the Winner of the said election, citing irregularities

In a Petition sighted by Urban Express News Online, Titled ‘’Petition for the Cancellation of MOSAN OKUNOLALCDA Chairmanship Primary Election Declared in Favour of Hon. Mrs. Adunni Opeyemi Akindele”, where it is alleged to be marred with Irregularities.

The Petition explained that the voting Process didn’t follow the laid-down procedure

The (15) Fifteen Delegates who equally signed the Petition agreed that the result didn’t reflect the realities of the outcome that was shunned out to the Public.

It is stated as follows

The results announced indicated that 26 votes were cast, while only 24 delegates were duly accredited. This constitutes a clear violation of electoral norms. It further states that it is a trait ín law that where the number of votes cast exceeds the number of accredited voters, the results are invalid.

This principle has been affirmed by the supreme court in several determined cases, where it was held that an election of such must be cancelled if over voting is established

it claimed that two aspirants who are contesting for same position are not eligible to vote in the primary hence they had resigned their position as local government party officers, and accordingly, are no more delegates

it claimed that one of the delegate Alhaji Tajudeen Dawodu is deceased adding that such action amounts to electoral malpractices

We believe in the integrity of the All-Progressive Congress and the committee’s mandate to ensure justice and internal party democracy; we must trust that our petition will receive the urgent and fair consideration it deserves. The statement reads
