Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has shared his excitement after Kelechi Iheanacho scored an important goal on his debut for the club.
Iheanacho netted an injury-time winner in the Hoops’ 2-1 victory over Kilmarnock at Rugby Park on Sunday afternoon.
The striker was introduced with 20 minutes remaining on the clock.
The Nigeria international fired home from the spot deep into stoppage time to seal victory for the Scottish Premiership champions.
Rodgers asserted that the goal will boost Iheanacho’s morale ahead of subsequent games.
“I’m delighted for Kels (Kelechi Iheanacho) because he’s a player who really feeds off confidence and love of coaches and supporters, and that goal will be very important for him,” Rodgers was quoted by the club’s official website.
The 28-year-old moved to Celtic Park on a free transfer earlier this month.
