Former Liverpool captain, Jamie Carragher has claimed manager Arne Slot has a week to save his job at the Premier League club.
The Reds suffered a 4-1 thrashing at the hands of PSV in the Champions League on Wednesday night.
The result confirmed the club’s worst run of form in 71 years, as it was their ninth defeat in 12 matches.
This weekend, the champions go into their league clash at West Ham sitting in 12th position.
After playing the Hammers, Liverpool will take on promoted sides Leeds and Sunderland.
Carragher, writing in his column for The Telegraph, warned “anything fewer than seven points will make an already unacceptable situation untenable”.
He added: “Arne Slot has a week to save his job.
“No matter how much goodwill the manager has, Liverpool Football Club cannot sustain the drop in standards witnessed over the past three months.”
