Most people do not know the health benefits of giving extra attention to their dental health. Before I dive deeply into the concerns of our dental. Let’s take a look at the dictionary meaning of the word Dental Care.
According to the Oxford dictionary, Dental care means oral hygiene; the practice of keeping the mouth and teeth clean. I further add to its meaning as the proper attention, tools or techniques put in place to ensure the overall health of the teeth. It is the ability to notice, observe and mark out changes, transformations or deterioration of its looks and sizes.
Now that we have looked at the meaning of dental care, you can agree with me that the health of your dental plays a significant role in the proper functioning and stability of your health as a whole.
Ways to know and the ingredients of inputs in listening when your dentist is whispering to you.
1. When you are constantly experiencing pain and sensitivity, that is your dental whispering to you, beckoning to you to pay attention. These sensitivities and pains include:
(a) Toothaches
(b) Sharp pains when consuming hot, cold, or sweet foods/drinks.
These kinds of signs are a major indicator of an underlying issue, such as a cavity, enamel erosion or an infection.
2. Bleeding or Swollen Gums.
When you notice a swollen gum or bleeding from your gums, it is a sign that your dentist is whispering to you. A healthy gum should be pink and should not bleed when you brush or floss.
When your gums become Red, Swollen or Tender, that can be an early sign of gum disease known as (Gingivitis or Periodontitis).
3. When your dental whispers, it comes most time in the form of bad breath or unpleasant taste; listen it is calling for your attention. While occasional bad breath is normal, chronic bad breath, known as Halitosis, or a persistent bad taste may signal decay, gum disease or a bacterial infection.
4. Visible changes to the teeth or mouth: When you notice a physical change, such as
(a) Chips
(b) Cracks
(c) White spots, which also signify early decay.
(d) Brown/Black spots on your teeth.
Additionally, any mouth sores, lumps or red/white patches that do not heal within two weeks should be examined by a professional, because that may be your dental whispering to you for help.
5. Jaw pain or clicking
The feeling of pain in or around your jaw, or a clicking/ popping sound when you open or close your mouth, can indicate a TMJ disorder or an issue caused by teeth grinding (Bruxism).
After duly stating out these points, that indicates your dental is whispering to you, and if you know you are experiencing any of these signs, it is time to listen to your dental and give it the appropriate care, concerns and attention it needs.
Remember, a happy dentist gives a scrumptious breath and leaves an alluring smile.
