Manchester United legend, Wayne Rooney, has warned Arsenal that Manchester City striker, Erling Haaland’s return to form will be a ‘scary’ prospect for the Gunners.
This comes after Haaland led Pep Guardiola’s side to beat Liverpool 2-1 in the Premier League on Sunday at Anfield.
The Norway international scored the winning goal for the Cityzens against the Reds to ensure they are now six points behind league leaders Arsenal on the log.
Speaking on BBC’s Match of the Day, Rooney said: “Haaland creates the equaliser and scores the high-pressure penalty, which keeps Manchester City in the Premier League title race.
Rooney pointed out that it was Haaland’s first goal at Anfield for Man City, adding, “You could see the relief in his face.
“The confidence that [winning goal] will give him now will be scary for Arsenal in the next few weeks.”
Man City has now positioned itself six points behind league leaders Arsenal in the Premier League standings.
