Former National Commissioner of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Festus Okoye, says every polling unit in Nigeria has internet access.
Okoye made this revelation on Tuesday during an interview on Trust TV, and that which was monitored by Urban Express News
He was speaking on the national debate around the Electoral Act amendment by the National Assembly and signed by President Bola Tinubu.
He said, “All the INEC machines for the election come with a power bank and other accessories.
“Now, when elections are over, the Presiding Officer has snapped the For EC8A, and there’s no network at that particular point, it stores the information in. The moment it comes into contact with the network, it transmits immediately.
“So, what the Presiding Officer has input, he cannot undo it until he gets network.
This whole issue about the network, I think, is an unnecessary debate, Okoye submits
“There’s no polling unit in this country where there’s no network. None. Forget about all these things about network connectivity. It’s just a lame excuse.https://urbanexpresslive.com/epl-why-nicky-butt-names-two-leaders-in-arsenal-team/
“Before iReV was deployed, the Commission conducted elections in different places and used its result viewing portal to upload polling unit-level results.”
