Chelsea manager, Enzo Maresca has ruled out any possibility of recalling the likes of midfielders Lesley Ugochukwu and Andrey Santos this January transfer window after Trevoh Chalobah.
The 25-year-old, who was deemed surplus to requirements last summer, was handed the number 23 jersey at Chelsea.
However, Chelsea has fresh issues with both midfielders Enzo Fernandez and Romeo Lavia, who are real doubts about the Premier League tie against Wolves on Monday night after missing training.
Ugochukwu is currently on loan at Southampton in the Premier League, while Andrey Santos is at Strasbourg in Ligue 1.
With both players owned by Chelsea, it seems like the Blues would be able to trigger a recall with either player this month, as they have already done with Chalobah last week.
When asked if Chelsea are considering a recall for either Ugochukwu or Santos, Maresca said ‘no’ at his pre-match press conference.
“No, because we don’t know if it’s a problem for them [Romeo Lavia and Enzo Fernandez], just that we don’t know if they will play the next game,” Maresca said.
