EPL: Why Tony Adams Disappointed With Saliba As Arsenal Beat Man City

Former Arsenal defender, Tony Adams was disappointed with William Saliba as the centre-back was caught out behind Manchester City striker, Erling Haaland for the Cityzens’ goal.

Arsenal produced an impressive display against Man City in the Premier League on Sunday as they won 5-1 at Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners went ahead inside two minutes through captain Martin Odegaard.

However, with the scoreline remaining 1-0, Haaland equalised in the 55 minutes.

Thomas Partey, Myles Lewis-Skelly, Kai Havertz and Ethan Nwaneri then scored to give Mikel Arteta’s side all three points.

“Fantastic. And likewise I was really disappointed with Saliba the way that he marked him,” Adams told Premier League Productions as he contrasted Gabriel and Saliba.

“Ball in play, he got too tight with the guy, he should have got in front of him, he will be kicking himself in there and we’ve got to learn from that.”

The win against City leave Arsenal I’m second position with six points behind leaders Liverpool on the Premier League table.

Arsenal will now face Newcastle United in the Carabao Cup in their next game on Wednesday.
