The Zone 12 Police Headquarters, Bauchi, has announced the assumption of duty of Assistant Inspector-General of Police, AIG Vungmoh S.M Kwaimo, as the 31st Assistant Inspector-General of the Zone, comprising Bauchi/Gombe. AIG Kwaimo officially took over leadership of the Zonal Headquarters on Tuesday, 6th January, 2026, succeeding AIG Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu PSC, who retired from the Force on age grounds after a selfless service.In a statement by SP Jalige Mohammad, Zonal Public Relations Officer on behalf of Assistant Inspector General of Police Zone 12 Bauchi, upon assuming office, AIG Kwaimo expressed profound gratitude to the 22nd indigenous Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, PhD, NPM, for finding him worthy in this capacity to take charge of Zone 12 headquarters.He reassured his commitment to serving with professionalism, dedication, and focus on results-oriented policing in ensuring the security and safety of Bauchi and Gombe States.AIG Vungmoh was born on the 25th of December, 1966 and hails from Garkawa District, Mikang LGA of Plateau State. He holds a B. Sc in Geography from the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, in 1988.He was enlisted into the Nigeria Police Force as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police on 18th May 1992 and trained at the Police Academy Annexe, Kaduna.
