A former governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Kano State, Ibrahim Khalil, has said a united opposition front could defeat the ruling APC in the 2027 general elections.
Khalil made the statement on Friday while addressing supporters shortly after returning from Saudi Arabia.
“If key political figures such as Rabiu Kwankwaso, Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, and Rotimi Amaechi come together, nothing will stop the ADC from defeating the APC in 2027,” he said.https://urbanexpresslive.com/championship-how-ajayi-poised-for-hull-city-comeback-after-injury-layoff/
Khalil further argued that the current economic hardship faced by many Nigerians could strengthen public support for the opposition if its leaders unite.https://urbanexpresslive.com/afcon-what-eric-chelle-said-regarding-three-players-that-impressed-him/
“People are already going through hardship and economic difficulties. This will further help us gain the support of the masses, especially if our leaders come together against the APC ahead of 2027,” he added.
He maintained that the strength of such an alliance would be enough to challenge the dominance of the APC at the national level.https://urbanexpresslive.com/ucl-youre-weak-for-covering-your-mouth-with-a-shirt-vinicius-slams-prestianni-over-racist-comment/
Khalil also described the alleged attempt by the ruling party to destabilise ADC through internal crises or political pressure as longstanding and ineffective.
“The allegations against the APC—of intimidation and attempts to weaken opposition parties—are not new. That has been the pattern of ruling parties from the NPC to the NPN, to the PDP, and now the APC. But such tactics do not last forever,” he said.
