Fulham midfielder Alex Iwobi has celebrated his 300th Premier League appearance, Urban Express News reports.
Iwobi reached the milestone in Fulham’s 2-1 defeat to Newcastle United on Saturday.
The 29-year-old made history as the first Nigerian to achieve the feat.
The former Arsenal player is now the fifth African with the most appearances in the English top flight.
Only Kolo Touré (353), Mohamed Salah (309), Wilfried Zaha (309), and Jordan Ayew (305) have played more games than him.
Iwobi said it was a big honor for him to achieve the milestone.
“It’s amazing,” he said. “It’s a big achievement to lead that, with the likes of Shola Ameobi and even my uncle [Jay-Jay Okocha] that’s participated in the Premier League,” he was quoted by Fulham’s official website as saying.
“It’s an honour, but I’m not done yet. I’m going to keep on going and hopefully keep the record going.”
