Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has insisted he retains the board’s support amid the club’s poor run of form.
The Premier League champions go into their Boxing Day clash with Everton sitting in seventh place.
After 17 fixtures, City are four points behind Nottingham Forest in fourth position and one point behind fifth-placed Bournemouth.
But Guardiola has now said he has the backing of chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak, as he did during his difficult first season in charge.
He said: “Every week we talk. I feel incredibly supported.
“We behaved like in the first season, but it was completely different. We both know it, when there’s a moment when something wrong happens then we are going to make decisions. I feel incredibly supported by him.
“Of course from Txiki (Begiristain) and Ferran (Soriano) but especially Khaldoon in those terms.”
