Liverpool, in a final update, have confirmed that Sunday’s Premier League clash against Manchester United will go ahead.

The game has been in doubt due to adverse weather conditions.

There were checks carried out early in the day. After an inspection in the afternoon, the go-ahead was given for the match.

“Today’s fixture against Manchester United will go ahead as planned.

“Two safety meetings were held earlier to assess the weather and travel conditions.

We thank everyone involved in helping us to get this game on today.

“If you’re travelling to Anfield then please take extra care. We look forward to seeing you there,” an official statement said.
