Arsenal believed the prices being quoted for both Benjamin Sesko and Viktor Gyokeres were too high.
This was revealed by Sky Sports’ Florian Plettenberg.
According to Plettenberg, the Gunners are refusing to pay RB Leipzig’s €80m-€100m asking price for Sesko.
They have been in contact with the striker’s agents, but have yet to fully agree on personal terms.
The report claims Arsenal could now shift their attentions to Gyokeres.
Gyokeres will be hoping Sporting CP will let him leave for a fee in the region of €60m–€70m.
The Portuguese champions could, however, demand a higher fee for the Swedish striker.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is expected to add a big-name striker to his squad ahead of next season, as he seeks to bring in major silverware.
