Arsenal captain, Martin Odegaard has named Liverpool defender, Virgil van Dijk as the toughest opponent he’s ever faced in the Premier League.
Odegaard has impressed since joining Arsenal permanently from Real Madrid.
The 25-year-old has established himself as one of the finest midfielders in Premier League football and has faced several tough opponents.
However, in a quickfire Q&A with TNT Sports, Odegaard said Van Dijk stood out above the rest as the toughest player he had faced in his career.
Asked to single out his toughest-ever opponent, Odegaard replied: “I think Virgil is a tough one.”
Odegaard also named teammate, Kai Havertz as his best friend in football and former Arsenal striker, Thierry Henry as the club’s greatest player of all time.
