Popular broadcaster Richard Keys has given his verdict on the future of Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim at Old Trafford.
This was following the Red Devils” latest defeat of 1-0 loss to Wolves in the Premier League on Sunday.
The media personality picked a surprise name as his choice to replace the Portuguese manager amid the Red Devils’ struggles this term.
Amorim saw Manchester United suffer another defeat, their 11th time in his 22 league games in charge of the club against Wolves.
Amorim, 40, came in a replacement for Erik ten Hag in November 2024 with the aim to change things for good and end their struggle.
However, that has not been the case, especially in the Premier League, where they are languishing in 14th position with just a few more matches to go.
Speaking on bein Sports, Keys picked former England boss Gareth Southgate to be Amorim’s replacement.
According to him, Southgate’s man management, ability to motivate his players, and manipulate situations make him an ideal candidate for the Red Devils’ job.
“The question is, would you trust him (Amorim) now, from what we’ve seen, to rebuild Manchester United with another £250m? Do you want me to answer the question? Gareth Southgate.
“Because he’s taken England to two European Championship finals. He understands a modern player and what’s required to make the modern player feel good about himself, his football team and the club he plays for. He’s a master of manipulation and motivation.”
