Liverpool winger, Mohamed Salah, has claimed that one of the club’s legends, Jamie Carragher, is “obsessed” with him.
Both men have been engaged in a war of words, amid the speculations surrounding Salah’s future at the Premier League club.
The Egyptian is now in the final six months of his current contract with the Reds.
This means Salah is now free to sign a pre-contract agreement with clubs from abroad.
And Carragher has been critical of Salah’s behaviours over the past few weeks and the tension between the pair has reached boiling point.
Last weekend, Salah posted a picture on social media with Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil van Dijk, which was interpreted as a cryptic message to the Liverpool hierarchy.
Carragher, who had previously labelled Salah as “selfish” for his comments about his contract, slammed the forward once again, urging Salah and Alexander-Arnold to follow Van Dijk’s lead in how he has conducted himself amid uncertainty over his future.
Salah responded on X, writing: “I’m starting to think you’re obsessed with me.”
Carragher joked in response: “I’ve always been obsessed with you. Hopefully, that obsession will continue next season.”
