The lifeless body of a 16-year-old boy identified as Lawal Wahab has been found by operatives of the Ogun State Police Command along the Old Express Road, Igbile-Ijebu.

His decomposed body was found with the head, both wrists, heart, and genitals gruesomely removed.

The Police Spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, in a statement obtained by DAILY POST, confirmed the incident on Saturday.

Odutola revealed that the deceased, who stayed with his grandmother, was earlier reported missing by his father, Mr. Lawal Olumide.

She stated that officers from the Omu-Ijebu Division, acting swiftly on credible intelligence, arrested a 25-year-old suspect identified as Salawu Omikansola, one Serefusi Agemo, and others in connection with the murder.

Odutola said, “Tragically, on July 23rd, 2025, his lifeless and decomposed body was discovered along the Old Express Road, Igbile-Ijebu.

“A preliminary examination revealed that the head, both wrists, heart, and genitals had been gruesomely removed, suggesting ritualistic motives.

“Acting swiftly on credible intelligence, officers from Omu-Ijebu Division apprehended suspects identified as Salawu Omikansola (25 years) ‘m’, Serefusi Agemo ‘m’, and others in connection with the murder. One of the suspects made a voluntary confessional statement, which was also recorded on video.”

She added that the case, alongside exhibits, is being prepared for immediate transfer to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Eleweran, for further discreet investigation, while the remains of the deceased were handed over to the family for burial under Islamic rites.

The command assured members of the public that justice would be served and urged all to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the nearest police formation.
