Armed bandits have carried out two separate attacks in Funtua and Dandume local government areas of Katsina State, abducting 12 people and injuring two.

Checks revealed that in Unguwar Dahiru, Funtua LGA, the bandits injured two people and abducted at least ten, including men and women.

It was also learnt that hours earlier, bandits blocked a road near Jarumai in Dandume LGA, kidnapping two travellers and moving away with their motorcycles.

A resident of Unguwar Dahiru, Ibrahim Ishiaku, who spoke with Urban Express News Online said the bandits have not contacted the families of the victims for a ransom payment.

According to him, the people of the area have been living in fear, while many have deserted the area as everyone is afraid that the bandits may return for another operation.
