The Flying Eagles of Nigeria retained the WAFU B U-20 title after a hard-earned 2-1 victory over Ghana at the Stade Kegue in Lome.

Kparobo Arierhi broke the deadlock for Nigeria, slotting the ball into the net after receiving a pass on the edge of the box.

Arierhi doubled Nigeria’s lead with another powerful effort late in the first half.

The Ghanaians fought back in the second half troubling the Flying Eagles defence frequently.

Jerry Afriyie reduced the deficit for the Black Satellites from a goalmouth scramble 14 minutes from time.

It was Afriyie’s fifth goal of the tournament.

Both Nigeria and Ghana qualified for the 2025 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations to be hosted by South Africa in January.
