Nicole Westmoreland, one of the lawyers representing music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs, is seeking a pardon from President Donald Trump.
Diddy is set to be sentenced on October 3.
“It’s my understanding that we’ve reached out and had conversations about a pardon,” Westmoreland told CNN.
However, it is understood that Trump is unlikely to grant a pardon to the 55-year-old.
Speaking with Newsmax on Friday, the US president admitted he was “friendly” with Diddy.
But when asked if that doesn’t mean he would necessarily pardon Diddy, Trump replied: “I would say so, yeah.”
Last month, a New York jury found Diddy guilty of two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution.
Each count carries a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison.
