Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA, says a train hit and killed a man on a railway track on Monday.
The Permanent Secretary of the agency, Dr Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, made this disclosure in a statement in Lagos.
Oke-Osanyintolu said the agency responded to a distress call regarding a train accident along the railway line opposite Cappa in Lagos, at about 18:00 hrs.
He added that upon arrival at the scene of the incident, they found an adult male, who was walking along the railway track after being hit by an oncoming train.
According to him, further investigations revealed that the yet-to-be identified, half-dressed adult male, died immediately on the railway track, due to the impact of the collision.
“The remains of the adult male have been bagged by the agency’s response team while awaiting arrival of the State Environmental Health Monitoring Unit officials, for onward movement to the morgue,” he said.
